In
our previous blog, “Success Begins With Failure”, we clarified that when you
fail to do something, then you might develop a whole new product or service. In
this blog, we would like to clarify that what you have is one thing, and how
you use it is another. What we do is one thing, but how we do it, critically
matters to what we do. If you want something to go in a specific way, then you
have to give it all the efforts required for it to go in that direction.
When
it comes to how we use what we have created, then it is important to ask about
what work best for the “service/product” that we have “manufactured”. Is it
something that should be manufactured and sell, or use to solve problems for
other people? The best knowledge is within you. Don’t ask anybody about how you
should use what you have to help as many people as possible. Nowadays
information is everywhere, but a knowledge within you makes you look for
something extremely specific.
If
you go to Google, Bing, Yahoo, or any other search engines, including libraries
and bookstores, to buy a book, you look for something that talks about the
topic you are interested in, or necessary for your education/career field. It
is more important that you ask yourself, how would this be most productive? Is
it something you should sell, publish, or give to others? Give it, do you mean
as in free? SADLY Yes!
The
main point of giving it away is under rare condition, but might be productive.
When you feel like what you have is more temporary than stable for long-term,
then giving it away might be a good idea. Put your focus on thoroughly
considering your decision. What you read is one thing, but how you interpret
them is different. These differences do not weaken the information. On the
contrary, it reflects on your own experience. Experience is the father of all
teachers!
For
example, when you read a book on a psychological topic, you will most likely
relate to something in the book. You build your own perspective about the
topic, using your own experience. You could find something that just feels like
it's talking to you. This strengthens your believe of the source. Every written
literature has an independent message, while how they are explained by teachers
or yourself would be different, because everyone has an independent perspective
about what they read, see, and hear.
If
you don't believe, gather some friends and look at a picture together,
preferably the one you found on the Internet, and they should write a couple of
hundred words about the picture for presentation. Some details might be the
same, but others would not. The reason is their interpretation.
Your
business is a lot like rhetoric. When speaking in public, in front of
investors, or anywhere else, what you say matters less to the people you are
talking to. They know what you have to say, because they’d have understanding
of the topic, before they agree to hear you in their presence. They’d know the
topic. The next question becomes, how do you tell them in a way that gets your
point through? If you are nervous, you will likely lay awake at night. You know
what you want to say, but the nervosity is coming from other areas.
You
are thinking about it from critical perspectives, wondering how they would
interpret what you say, what you will wear, and your body language. You will
probably practice in front of a mirror, and personally assess these things and
more by yourself. You do all these
things to perform your very best during the presentation. These things are
gathering all the facts to determine the best strategies for your presentation.
Is this correct? When you are during the presentation, you are putting your
facts into practice.
What
happen if you do all these things, and during the presentation in front of
audience, the whole room is tensed, when a more suitable strategy for your
presentation is creating an atmosphere that relax the room, make the audience
smile, engage and excited throughout the whole presentation? If you are
flexible, you would adjust while on the go! You need to adjust when you detect
problems during the presentations.
As
a person who has gone to many presentations, it has always been very productive
to create an audience that relax and smile when presenting on stage or in front
of people. Everyone who write or tips you about something, is doing it from
their own perspective. Steve Tobak, a contributor at Entrepreneur says in his
article “Know Yourself,
Face Your Fear, Follow Your Heart” that when you feel like you are burning for
something, then you should rather do it, because it is your heart telling you
what to do. He also clarifies that it is not about knowing what you know now, a
few years ago. It is about the journey to what you now know.
What
you go through strengthens you, and it is the same thing in business. All
statistics on business startups clarify that the first five years are the most
critical parts. This makes it possible for all businesses to demonstrate its
abilities to deal with critical aspects of the strategies they developed. When
you start looking for information, you are gathering facts. Objective is
finding the facts, and use its details to establish plans and strategies, based
on those facts.
The
OBJECTIVES on the other hand is how you push all your plans and strategies to a
direction. This is where you put the whole thing in practice. Everything you
got! All the facts, statistics, knowledge, and literally everything you used to
build your business’ objectives are THEORIES! When you start putting your
theories to practice, then the OBJECTIVES begin! This is when you start gaining
the experience! Trust me, this is when you really learn the most important
thing about your business, and YOURSELF! You would surprise yourself, and see
your capabilities!
