Success Has No Work Hours

We want you to comprehend the value of not thinking in term of time, but in terms of getting things done. Most people probably already know this. But, it does not make it less valuable, does it? Who cares that these two blogs took more than 5 hours to compose? If you care, please leave us a comment and kindly inform us about it. It takes that long because we carefully think about the topic, and this topic is very popular. But, the content are completely different. There is a difference in knowing it, and asking if there is no work hours, then what does it have? It has objectives. Don’t consider how long it takes to do the objectives. But make sure that the sub-objectives are linked to the business’ main objectives.

What we do, and how we do what we do differentiates us from one another. If it takes a professor 20 minutes to compose something, and it takes you an hour to do the same thing, does it matter to you? I hope to GOD it does not! Never care how long it takes you to do something, but the productivity of the things you do. DON’T CARE HOW LONG IT TAKES SOMEONE ELSE TO DO THE THING YOU DO! Only focus on the things you do, and how you get these things done. If you belief that something should take about 30 minutes (this is theory), while in reality, it takes you an hour and half for you to get the thing done (this is practice), and you are confidence that it was done right, then you have succeeded.

Let’s look at this from a specific perspective, like how you might spend your day. When you wake up, you eat breakfast, shower, get ready and take the children to school, then you go to work, do your job, pick up the children, and then you go home, and do other things. Everything you do within the day are directed towards how you would be spending the day for you to get everything in order. Let’s say, you estimated that from waking up to leaving the house should take an hour and half, but when you start striving towards getting things in order, it takes longer than estimated. Something could go wrong, like not being able to find something, and your estimated strategies would be facing a little challenge, then you might compromise to drive the day towards a desired direction.  Let’s approach something more complex.

Do you have a driver license? How many times did you do the driving test or driving theory test? Some people might get the whole thing right the first time, while others do it more than once. Regardless if you do these once or more, you still get the same driving license, or did you get a different one? But, the time it took is different. It does not matter how long it takes. You get a fantastic feeling when it is done right, because then you’d feel like a winner. How long it takes you to do something is irrelevant, the main point is that you don’t just get it done, but you also get it done right.

Focus on succeeding with your objective, and neglect how long it takes!

SUCCESS Require Distinguishing Objective from OBJECTIVE

In our previous blog, “Success Begins With Failure”, we clarified that when you fail to do something, then you might develop a whole new product or service. In this blog, we would like to clarify that what you have is one thing, and how you use it is another. What we do is one thing, but how we do it, critically matters to what we do. If you want something to go in a specific way, then you have to give it all the efforts required for it to go in that direction.

When it comes to how we use what we have created, then it is important to ask about what work best for the “service/product” that we have “manufactured”. Is it something that should be manufactured and sell, or use to solve problems for other people? The best knowledge is within you. Don’t ask anybody about how you should use what you have to help as many people as possible. Nowadays information is everywhere, but a knowledge within you makes you look for something extremely specific.

If you go to Google, Bing, Yahoo, or any other search engines, including libraries and bookstores, to buy a book, you look for something that talks about the topic you are interested in, or necessary for your education/career field. It is more important that you ask yourself, how would this be most productive? Is it something you should sell, publish, or give to others? Give it, do you mean as in free? SADLY Yes!

The main point of giving it away is under rare condition, but might be productive. When you feel like what you have is more temporary than stable for long-term, then giving it away might be a good idea. Put your focus on thoroughly considering your decision. What you read is one thing, but how you interpret them is different. These differences do not weaken the information. On the contrary, it reflects on your own experience. Experience is the father of all teachers!

For example, when you read a book on a psychological topic, you will most likely relate to something in the book. You build your own perspective about the topic, using your own experience. You could find something that just feels like it's talking to you. This strengthens your believe of the source. Every written literature has an independent message, while how they are explained by teachers or yourself would be different, because everyone has an independent perspective about what they read, see, and hear.

If you don't believe, gather some friends and look at a picture together, preferably the one you found on the Internet, and they should write a couple of hundred words about the picture for presentation. Some details might be the same, but others would not. The reason is their interpretation.

Your business is a lot like rhetoric. When speaking in public, in front of investors, or anywhere else, what you say matters less to the people you are talking to. They know what you have to say, because they’d have understanding of the topic, before they agree to hear you in their presence. They’d know the topic. The next question becomes, how do you tell them in a way that gets your point through? If you are nervous, you will likely lay awake at night. You know what you want to say, but the nervosity is coming from other areas.

You are thinking about it from critical perspectives, wondering how they would interpret what you say, what you will wear, and your body language. You will probably practice in front of a mirror, and personally assess these things and more by yourself.  You do all these things to perform your very best during the presentation. These things are gathering all the facts to determine the best strategies for your presentation. Is this correct? When you are during the presentation, you are putting your facts into practice.

What happen if you do all these things, and during the presentation in front of audience, the whole room is tensed, when a more suitable strategy for your presentation is creating an atmosphere that relax the room, make the audience smile, engage and excited throughout the whole presentation? If you are flexible, you would adjust while on the go! You need to adjust when you detect problems during the presentations.

As a person who has gone to many presentations, it has always been very productive to create an audience that relax and smile when presenting on stage or in front of people. Everyone who write or tips you about something, is doing it from their own perspective. Steve Tobak, a contributor at Entrepreneur says in his article “Know Yourself, Face Your Fear, Follow Your Heart  that when you feel like you are burning for something, then you should rather do it, because it is your heart telling you what to do. He also clarifies that it is not about knowing what you know now, a few years ago. It is about the journey to what you now know.

What you go through strengthens you, and it is the same thing in business. All statistics on business startups clarify that the first five years are the most critical parts. This makes it possible for all businesses to demonstrate its abilities to deal with critical aspects of the strategies they developed. When you start looking for information, you are gathering facts. Objective is finding the facts, and use its details to establish plans and strategies, based on those facts.

The OBJECTIVES on the other hand is how you push all your plans and strategies to a direction. This is where you put the whole thing in practice. Everything you got! All the facts, statistics, knowledge, and literally everything you used to build your business’ objectives are THEORIES! When you start putting your theories to practice, then the OBJECTIVES begin! This is when you start gaining the experience! Trust me, this is when you really learn the most important thing about your business, and YOURSELF! You would surprise yourself, and see your capabilities!

Success Begins with Failure

Have you ever have issues finding something? Every customer who enters a store/restaurant or contact a company in other ways has a need. If you are in a position where you are looking for something specific, and you cannot find it, then you might be in the phase of “failure”. Failure to find something is the beginning of your success, because you might discover a new product or service that attract other people. It prepares you for a journey that lead to you asking questions about what you might need to create the “product” to specifically suit your need.
When it is impossible to find something, and we can easily or toughly create something, then it becomes possible and easy to have a product/service for a business. Your creativity comes to use, so will your skills and expertise, and more importantly, your needs. Why? Because we failed to find exactly what we need. This is not applicable to everyone.
We are picky about almost everything. How we look. The kind of people we socialize with, the kind of lipstick we use, and what we eat and drink. Let’s say I am hungry, and want to eat burger, but I want it to have a certain size, a specific taste, and aroma etc., and already know how restaurants make their food.
But I don’t want my food like that. I start experimenting with different recipe, until I found the burger that taste exactly as I want. Now, the path to success continues. Failure to find something leads to creating something that perfectly suits my need. After tasting and enjoying how it felt in my mouth, I start looking at the market. A business start developing, and I sell them in small quantity, doing the “market experiment” to evaluate how people will accept it in the market. I’m able to start a business. People loves and accept it.
The market want something specific, and you provided it, because like them, you failed to find it. If I could find what I was looking for, then I might not have an idea, nor establish a plan. When you personally needs something you cannot find, and you “manufacture” one to suit your needs, you becomes your first customer. You began with meeting your own needs, and therefore being in the position of a customer, and seeing things from their point of view. This experience could be a tool for acknowledging your customers need.
Most people who successfully run a business today have a story. If they don’t have a story, then they might not have any business, nor would they have visions and/or mission. Over the years, different businesses are enjoying the fruit of their effort and investments. There is a trend in how common businesses have established through the founder being in sudden need of something.
When it comes to the situation where a specific person is looking for something they can’t find, then it is disturbing, if not frustrating. If they fail to find what they need, and they have some kind of entrepreneurial way of thinking, then they could start to creatively adjust the available resources, and customize them to create exactly what they need.

Success Begins in Mind

Write down a thought that could boost your life or business. Your thoughts will normally fade away after some time. A thought is a thought, until it becomes an idea. An idea is an idea until it starts developing and filled with plans and strategies that turns it into a business. We have all heard this phrase before: “Greatest idea is meaningless without being put into action.” Many people have different ideas that they don't act on. Lack of resources is the principle reason they do not act on these ideas.
Greatness face a lot of challenges. A more important question is: “do you believe in your idea?” If you belief in it, turn it to a goal, and a plan start running through your mind.
Most (if not all) successful and innovative businesses in the world begun by putting their effort into turning their ideas into businesses, and they were not initially motivated by money! They began with considering how their ideas would add-value to their prospects’ lives. They were motivated by helping other people. Some of them have failed before, but they learned and turn it to success.
Success is not just about money, but having faith in your idea, skills, and expertise. When you have it, it is easier to make investors, banks or others believe it. Most resources you need in the beginning of your business are either cheap or free. If you want to be successful, don't see resources as obstacles! For example, if you would like to run a motor business, it would cost millions to establish. It might not cost you that much. It could only cost you about 15000 or less. But, you would put more effort into it.
Let's say...
I'm a professional car mechanic and want to run a major car company. I look at all the junk yards in my areas. Companies that scrap vehicles, and other places are part of my resources. I go to the junk yards, and get car parts. Then, I rebuild the whole car, test drive it, and sell it. Use the money to buy components for two or more cars, rebuild, and sell. Continue at this frequency. You would eventually be able to afford buying and selling used cars. With time, I would say you could run a company that sells new cars.
Ask yourself “how possible is my success?”
